Our Van Wert Cooked Meats Plant in Van Wert County, Ohio creates, cooks, and slices some of the highest quality deli products on the market for brands you know and trust. Cooper Farms is currently seeking a 1st shift Ammonia Technician to join our team in Van Wert.

$$ 1,000 SIGN-ON BONUS $$

(Sign-On Bonus to be paid as $250 at thirty days, $250 at sixty days and $500 at six months. Rehires qualify a year after termination).

SHIFT HOURS: (1st shift) Monday through Friday 6:00am-2:30pm

STARTING HOURLY RATE: $26.75 - $30/hr with a potential increase after 90 days.

PERKS: Monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)

All training will be provided. Job functions include:

  • Operate and maintain ammonia refrigeration and freezer equipment, including pumps, condensers, compressors, evaporators, valves and purgers.
  • Monitor system performance and record data on meter performance.
  • Manage and track work orders, documenting repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the refrigeration systems.
  • Be aware of and follow policies required by OSHA and EPA.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Completion of CARO or CIRO certificate
  • Experience in industrial maintenance and refrigeration preferred
  • Strong technical skills in refrigeration, including troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of ammonia refrigeration systems, along with a strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations
  • In-depth knowledge of ammonia refrigeration cycles, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and other components
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues with ammonia refrigeration systems, including leaks, compressors failures and other malfunctions
  • Familiarity with electrical wiring, controls and mechanical systems related to refrigeration
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and use computers for data entry and reporting
