Job Description

Our St. Henry Harvesting plant in Mercer County, Ohio, prepares the turkeys for further processing and distribution. Cooper Farms is currently seeking a 1st shift Fab Shop Welder to join our team in St. Henry.

The primary goal of this position is to repair and fabricate food processing equipment parts and to set up and operate fabricating machines such as welders, flame cutters, plasma cutter, and cutting torch.

SHIFT HOURS: Monday through Friday 6:30am-3:00pm & every other Saturday 6:00am-12:00pm

STARTING HOURLY RATE: Commensurate with experience

ADDITIONAL PAY: Monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)

Job functions include:

  • Weld together components for a variety of parts
  • Read and interpret blueprints and working drawings
  • Fabricate and assemble products using Tig welding
  • Position, align, and weld together various steel parts
  • Design and construct templates and fixtures
  • Verify conformance of work piece to specifications using square, ruler, and measuring tape
  • Keep the shop and work areas organized and clean
  • Identify nonperforming parts and notify supervisor
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Welding/fabricating experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and fabricate/assemble products using primarily tig and other welding
  • Ability to operate various fabrication equipment, such as shears, brakes, etc
