Job Description
Cooper Farms is a family-owned farm and food company based in Northwest Ohio for more than 85 years. We have divisions in Mercer, Van Wert and Paulding Counties in Ohio and are looking for a Strategic Improvement Manager to join our team.
The overall objective of this role is to increase the bottom line of all divisions across the company through strategic improvements focusing on eliminating waste, increasing teamwork, and building leadership expertise.
LOCATION: Work with any division
SHIFT HOURS: Monday through Friday
STARTING RATE: Commensurate with experience
ADDITIONAL PAY: Monthly profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)
Job Functions:
- Facilitate Master Business Planning and KPI Goal setting in a way that builds commitment, teamwork, and skill in leaders along the way
- Work across Cooper Farms divisions in leading teams to find ways to optimize systems, processes, and procedures and to increase capacity, improve quality, and/or better procedures to keep Team Members safe.
- Organize and coordinate time studies, design experiments, Root Cause Analysis and After-Action Reviews. Lead those efforts in a way that builds capacity in others to complete them in the future with excellence across the company.
- Review metrics and reports across the company and work with the metric owners to simplify and standardize reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Ag Management, Science, or similar and a minimum of three years of experience in the fields of manufacturing, animal or meat processing, or agricultural management
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
- Qualified candidates are preferred to have strong skills using Microsoft Office especially Excel.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must with the ability to plan and lead meetings to achieve specific outcomes as per the team’s charter.
- Candidates should have the ability to grasp concepts quickly and teach them to others
- Ability to think strategically while balancing multiple needs and opportunities
- Strong desire to improve systems and the abilities of the people within them
