Job Description

Our Oakwood Division in Paulding County, Ohio, breeds hogs and turkeys while providing the best care to our animals in a small team setting. Cooper Farms is currently seeking a Hatch Team Lead in Oakwood.
The primary goal of this position is to ensure all functions of the Hatchery are carried out effectively and efficiently.
SHIFT HOURS:Monday – Friday 7:00am-3:30pm with potential for weekend and evening work as needed
STARTING HOURLY RATE: $19.50 per hour then raise after 90 days
ADDITIONAL PAY: Monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)
Job functions include:
- Responsible for all operations when the manager is not present
- Direct and assist in the pulling of hatch, cleaning, and other work as apparent or assigned.
- Be able to determine appropriate hatch pull times to assist in managers absence
- Setting and transferring eggs at scheduled times
- Construct poult boxes as needed (plastic and cardboard)
- Perform preventative maintenance as assigned
- Maintain cleaning schedules and ensure all areas are kept in a neat and orderly fashion
- On call as needed and on weekends
- A Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a turkey hatchery and supervisory experience preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs repeatedly
- Ability to be on feet for prolonged periods of time
- Maintenance experience
- Computer knowledge
- Leadership skills
- Knowledge of basic math
- Must be detail oriented; able to take and give direction
