Job Description

Cooper Farms is a family-owned farm and food company based in Northwest Ohio for over 85 years. Our Fort Recovery Feed & Animal Division in Mercer and Darke counties, in Ohio, produces and delivers feed while providing support to our contract farmers raising animals for production. Cooper Farms is currently seeking a 2nd shift Superintendent to join our CEP team in Coldwater.

The primary goal of this position is to provide leadership and direction to the off-shift processing, sanitation, and shipping/receiving departments.

SHIFT HOURS: Monday through Friday - 2nd shift

STARTING RATE: Commensurate with experience

ADDITIONAL PAY: Monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)

Job Functions:

  • Lead and support off-shift teams in egg processing, sanitation, and logistics
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and productive work environment
  • Communicate effectively across all levels · supervisors, team members, and management
  • Train, motivate, and develop team members to meet performance and safety standards
  • Collaborate with HR and Safety departments to support employee growth and compliance
  • Uphold product safety, legality, and quality standards
  • Promote and embody the Cooper Culture in all interactions
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Communicate clearly with all levels of management and supervision, through talk, email, text, & Teams messaging
  • Assist production supervisors/leads in problem solving
  • Train, motivate, and lead a team of employees to be safe and efficient through proper training on SOPs, guidance, and employee discussions
  • Focus on team member knowledge and skill level to properly perform job functions
  • Work with other managers and team members to achieve overall effectiveness
Requirements
  • Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • HACCP certified
  • Excel in team building and leadership
  • Strong skills in the following areas: Leadership, written and verbal communication, and math and reasoning
  • Must be able to speak in front of groups of people effectively.
